CEDIA Expo 2019 Hard Hat Media Tour Gives Press First Look At Hot Products

Rather than the usual press conference format, the CEDIA Expo Hard Hat Media Tour gave exhibitors a better way to announce and showcase their new products to members of the media at the Colorado Conference Center Thursday morning.

Small groups of media representatives toured a select booths, meeting key contacts and getting a peek at hot new products before the exhibition hall opened to CEDIA attendees. This new format frees exhibitors from limited slideshow presentations, giving them an opportunity to showcase their products at their booths with full display setups, the way they were meant to be shown.

 

Stops along the Hard Hat Tour included:

 

Savant, Booth 1500

Hot Product/Announcement: Daylight Mode with the Savant app allows users to modify the light temperature of their rooms to suit their daily needs. Additionally, users can schedule their lights to change temperature at different times of the day and can perform a one-minute preview that cycles through the programmed schedule.

 

Airzone, Booth 1052 

Hot Product/Announcement: Aidoo is an HVAC hub that allows smart thermostat owners to keep their current features by expanding control compatibility options. It features voice control with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa.

 

Living in Place Institute, Booth 949

Hot Product/Announcement: Training and education to help bring awareness to the integration, design and connected home industries. Interactive demos offer insights into the challenges that affect our lives and routine habits and how design can be the solution to lasting independence and safety in our homes.

 

Vanco, Booth 643

Hot Product/Announcement: EVO Skillz can automatically embed audio from a secondary source onto an HDMI cable, and sense and switch audio while allowing the user to maintain uninterrupted video. It also works with voice controls.

 

LG, Booth 2107

Hot Product/Announcement: The U.S. debut of LG Signature OLED 8K televisions. LG ThinQ AI, Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa are all built in; the TVs are Dolby Atmos and WiSA ready. The 88-inch model on display runs a tidy sum of $29.999, and its picture is incredible.

 

Sony, Booth 2513

Hot Product/Announcement: For the first time, Crystal LED displays are available in the CI channel for residential application. Sizes range from 109 inches (diagonally) to 65 feet. Additionally, projector upgrades will be available winter 2019.

Hot Product/Announcement: This functional smart outlet or switch has modules that can be switched out to meet customer’s needs and room layout. While the outlet only needs to be installed once, users can switch out the modules to provide a multitude of functions including video camera, temperature, humidity and motion sensors to aromatherapy.

 

Red Carpet Cinema, Booth 3356

Hot Product/Announcement: A proprietary media server available nationwide that provides first-run Hollywood movies to luxury level installations. Contracts include: Warner Bros., Paramount, Fox, Lionsgate, MGM, Annapurna and STX.
