In our series of #CEDIAShares blogs, we’re talking with exhibitors about the hottest technologies and trends they’re looking to see at CEDIA Expo.

Q&A with André Floyd, director, technical marketing and support, Kaleidescape.

Why exhibit at CEDIA Expo 2026?
CEDIA Expo is the one time of year when the entire home integration/custom install industry comes together, including the sales channel, manufacturers, industry experts, and trainers.  Being able to show off Kaleidescape’s latest content and product achievements to all the dealers in the channel, and to help over 50 other manufacturers show off their products and technology in the best light (and sound — pun intended) by using the best source is a can’t-miss opportunity for us. Doing that as we celebrate Kaleidescape’s 25th anniversary is a bonus; it’s a chance to recognize that milestone with the industry while also showing what we’re working on today.

We’re inviting everyone to join us for our 25th anniversary reception on Wednesday, September 2, from 4:00–5:00 PM at booth #3706. It will be a fun opportunity to celebrate with many of the people who have been part of the Kaleidescape story.

What is the most exciting trend you expect to see at the show?
Unapologetically, it is the trend we started two months ago: the elevation of home cinema by providing source content in a new format that is better than anything previously available in the residential market. For the first time ever, dealers can design and install systems — whether in a dedicated theater space, a multi-use room with a high-quality AV system, or a living room or family room with a nice TV and a soundbar — that can download and play movies with all the color information that the studios produced and at a higher average bitrate than was available to the home before. And that system is also finally ready and able to deliver on the industry’s promise of 8K resolution.

We’ll dig into that topic during our Smart Stage panel, “Designing Immersive Entertainment Experiences,” on Thursday, September 3, from 2:00–2:45 PM. CE Pro’s Zachary Comeau will moderate a conversation with Kaleidescape’s Michael Kobb, filmmaker Phil Holland, 8K Association executive director Juan Reyes, and JVC product manager Rob Budde.

Phil directed Velocitas Machina, the first native 8K title available in the Kaleidescape movie store, so I think the combination of perspectives — from filmmaking and content to displays and playback technology — will make for an interesting discussion about where residential entertainment is headed.

What will you focus on at the show?
We are demonstrating and discussing the Strato K movie player. We want everyone to understand that more color and more bits provide an experience in the home that has no equal, and that offering that experience to their clients is a meaningful, revenue-generating opportunity.  We’ve built a booth where attendees can see the potential of a truly immersive experience on our 18-foot-wide LED wall from QMS, the richness of the 4K Cinematic format on a 98-inch Sony True RGB display, and the detail of an 8K movie on an 85-inch Samsung 8K TV.

We are also partners in a theater demonstration I’d encourage attendees to visit in booth #2120. We’ve joined with Sony, KEF, Stewart Filmscreen, Panamorph, and Acoustic Innovations to demonstrate 4K Cinematic content in a dedicated home cinema environment. The system will use the Strato K movie player to play 4K Cinematic video with lossless audio.

In Sound Room 10, Strato K will be part of a luxury home cinema demonstration with StormAudio, Christie, Seymour-Screen Excellence, madVR Labs, ASCENDO, AcustiMOD, Officina Acustica, and Moovia. It’s a great example of what happens at CEDIA when several manufacturers come together to build a complete cinema experience.

I also want to highlight the Quantum Media Systems demonstration in MR-201 HPA, featuring its Quantum XDR 8K Micro LED display wall with TPI speakers and electronics and a StormAudio processor. Kaleidescape will provide the movie source, including content that demonstrates the system’s capabilities.

And those are just three examples. More than 50 brands will be using Kaleidescape in demonstrations throughout CEDIA Expo, so there will be plenty of opportunities to experience our products and content in different systems across the show floor.

Stop by booth #3706 to see us, help celebrate our 25th anniversary on Wednesday afternoon, and then join the conversation at the Smart Stage on Thursday. For me, CEDIA is really about spending time with the industry, seeing what everyone has been working on, and experiencing how all these technologies come together in the home.
