CEDIA to Host First North American RP32 Workshop at CEDIA Expo

Hands-on RP32 training debuts at CEDIA Expo with audio system measurement and verification education.

CEDIA will host the RP32: Audio System Measurement and Verification Workshop for the first time in North America as part of the CEDIA Education Conference at CEDIA Expo 2026. Leading the course will be industry experts Adam Pelz, owner and president of Bespoke Cinemas; Matt Poes, owner of Poes Acoustics; and Tom Dellicompagni, owner of Dellicompagni.

CEDIA’s latest Recommended Practice RP32 outlines objective, repeatable methods for measuring and verifying audio system performance. It provides a structured process to ensure that completed systems meet the intended design goals and client expectations. Importantly, RP32 incorporates verification against the performance parameters defined in CEDIA RP22: Immersive Audio System Design, allowing integrators to demonstrate whether a system achieves the targeted RP22 performance level.

This full-day, hands-on workshop introduces the recommended procedures of RP32 and gives participants practical experience using a range of measurement tools and software. Attendees will learn how to gather reliable data, interpret results, and document system performance in a consistent and professional manner.

The course is suitable for both residential and commercial applications and is designed to support newer practitioners as well as experienced professionals who want to adopt a recommended practice-based approach to system verification.

By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Describe and apply the RP32 methodology
  • Perform objective, repeatable system measurements
  • Verify performance against RP22 parameters
  • Document and communicate results clearly

This hands-on course gives attendees practical experience with measurement and verification procedures that support more consistent, reliable system performance. Participants will walk away with valuable skills they can apply immediately across both residential and commercial projects.

CEDIA’s RP32 Workshop will be held on Monday, Aug. 31 from 8:30 AM to 2:30 PM in rooms 401, 402 of the Colorado Convention Center. Complimentary lunch will be provided to all participants.

Early bird pricing for the RP32 Workshop is available through July 17: $299 for members and $499 for non-members. After July 17, rates increase to $349 for members and $549 for non-members.
