For LG, CEDIA Expo 2019 marked the U.S. debut for the company’s 8K televisions, highlighted by the introduction of the LG Signature OLED 8K.

“LG has pioneered new technology in the past, going back to the Zenith days,” said Tim Alessi, head of home entertainment product marketing at LG Electronics USA. “We introduced the first 4K TV, now we’re pleased to introduce the first 8K OLED.”
Measuring 88 inches, the LG Signature OLED 8K features LG’s a9 Gen 2 Intelligent Processor 8K for upscaling and noise reduction, plus LG ThinQ AI, Google Assistant, and Alexa built in. It is also compatible with all HDR formats, including DolbyVision, features an integrated 4.2-channel audio system, and carries an MSRP of $29,999. Also on display was the company’s 8K NanoCell TV, a 75-inch LED display with the same processor and AI technologies as the Signature model, but at a price point just under $5,000.
Other highlights at the booth include seven different models of TVs 75 inches and larger, and the CineBeam HU85 laser ultra-short-throw projector, which can project a 120-inch 4K image from 7.2 inches away from the wall.
