Metra Home Theater Group Launches Ethereal HD Program

Metra Home Theater Group is introducing the Ethereal High Definition Program (EHD)—a unique specialized line of products and training designed to meet the demands of today’s complex, high speed digital installations.

Metra Home Theater Group is introducing the Ethereal High Definition Program (EHD)—a unique specialized line of products and training designed to meet the demands of today’s complex, high speed digital installations.

“High speed digital applications have presented the consumer electronics industry with many difficult challenges and the demand for knowledge, specialized products and education for high definition services has risen to an all time high,” said Jessy Crabb, director of operations at Metra Home Theater Group. “In order to meet these demands, our Ethereal division has embarked on a new project that goes beyond the quality engineered product and service that we currently offer to develop a program that will rise to meet the needs for integrators for very complex installations – the Ethereal High Definition Program.”

EHD will offer a unique specialized line of HD products, including high speed digital cables, engineered to offer performance and reliability.

Now, by way of incorporating new state of the art silicon and new design techniques, Ethereal’s new EHD High Speed Digital Cable products can provide a huge video operating window, according to the company. In addition, these new products have specially-built data accelerators that keep both EDID and HDCP operating at remarkable performance levels, the company says. Ethereal’s new EHD cable products are powered from within the interface eliminating any external power devices that products with these types of dynamics usually would require.

The outside diameter of these cables has now been reduced to less than 3mm with 1-, 2-, and 3-meter cables and 3.2mm on 4-, 5-, and 6-meter cables reducing their weight from pounds to ounces, making installation even easier. Ethereal plans on introducing longer 8- and 12-meter lengths using the same type of engineering principles as with the smaller lengths in the near future.

Additionally, Ethereal will team up with DPL Labs, an HDMI product testing and performance rating program, to offer an educational training program at DPL’s advanced facility. This training will also include hands-on troubleshooting applications using existing products that integrators use everyday in the field. The program will only be offered direct to qualified EHD dealers.

The Ethereal High Definition Program will make its debut at CEDIA EXPO 2012, held September 6-8 in Indianapolis, IN. Visitors to the show are invited to stop by the Metra Home Theater Group booth (#1741) to learn more.
