Technology & Business Summit Greets Eighth Year

The Technology & Business Summit will be in Southern California on May 3 in Los Angeles at the Warner Center Marriott and May 5 in Orange County at the Irvine Hilton.

The eighth Technology & Business Summit will be held in Southern California on May 3 in Los Angeles at the Warner Center Marriott and May 5 in Orange County at the Irvine Hilton.

The Summit is an event brought to the industry by the collective effort of independent rep firms that represent manufacturers in southern California. The rep firms that host the event are AV Partners, ByDesign Vision & Sound, Calwest Marketing, Chris Dixon Company, I Rep Green, Morris Tait Associates, Paul Collins Group, ProWest Sales, and Studio Decor.

Over 100 exhibiting companies represented by the various rep firms are expected to participate with tabletop displays and factory staff. The venue and displays were chosen to encourage an interactive environment where dealers get to talk with the exhibitors as opposed to doing a “fly-by.” Breakfast and lunch are served to encourage participants to spend the entire day. CEDIA will act as education partner for the summit. CEDIA will contribute presenters, industry trends, and CEU credits for seminars.

“Last year was especially rewarding since it was our seventh year and any type of event can get stale after a while,” said Mark Cichowski, event cofounder. “On the contrary, the energy level was the highest ever, integrators and exhibitors gave us outstanding positive feedback, and we have more planned to make this year’s event even better.”

Frank White continues to work with the team at Integrator Network, the company that organizes and manages the Tech Summit.

“I’ve been involved in the Summit for years and it is truly the right formula for our industry,” said White. “It is collaborative with reps, manufacturers and dealers all working together to not only talk about products, but to build a better business. It is a concentrated investment of time and a huge amount of value in return.”

There will be five Educational Seminars, two hosted by the Tech Summit education partner, CEDIA:Real 4K and Ultra HD (Redeemable for CEDIA CEU Credits); Demystifying HDMI and EDID ( Redeemable forCEDIA CEU Credits); Networking for the Future; Advanced Business Practices – geared towards business owners and principals; How to embrace DIY and overcome the “it’s good enough” mentality.

Technology demos for Dolby Atmos and “true” 4K are also planned to run throughout the summit.

More information about the Southern California Technology & Business Summit can be found online. Registration will be open on March 14 once details for seminars and presenters are finalized.
