Aaudio Imports has introduced a new pair of power products, the Zyklop and Minotaur Power Cords by Stage III Concepts.
Entirely handmade, the cables can be used with audio and video equipment of all types. The Zyklop is designed to make treble and midrange signals smoother and better defined, and increases bass depth, articulation, video contrast, and sharpness, according to the company.
The IEC and mains plugs use pure copper and silver electrical contacts with a massive conductor array delivering extremely low resistance, making it especially well suited for power amplifiers, where current demands can fluctuate quickly and drastically.
The cords employ 8 palladium/silver AeroStrand Ultra conductors for each polarity in a tubular helix geometry, and an air dielectric with FEP (fluorinated ethylene propylene) Teflon air-tubes. Stage III’s high-efficiency AeroStrand conductors offer lower resistance and better heat dissipation than traditional stranded cords.
The Zyklop’s radiation-proof shielding uses an exclusive High Density Alloy foil plus nickel-plated copper braid, with individually protected ground, positive, and negative conductors. The multi-layer construction includes a silica/ceramic/ferrite mechanical damping and shielding layer.
The cords use exclusive Hyperion Ceramic plugs with silver/copper alloy electrical contacts, cryogenically tempered and plated with palladium. Carbon fiber plug housings, also custom-made and polymer-filled, help eliminate external vibrations.
Zyklop Zero Distortion Audio Power Cords are available now from Stage III dealers at a suggested price of $6,000 for 1.5 meters with each additional 0.5 meter costing $2,300. Discounts are available on a sliding scale ranging from 6 to 24 percent, depending on amount.
