ADI to Carry Coaxsys’ Networking Devices

Low voltage and security distributor ADI will carry Coaxsys TVnet/C Pro network at its 105 locations nationwide.

Los Gatos, CA–Low voltage and security distributor ADI will carry Coaxsys TVnet/C Pro network at its 105 locations nationwide. TVnet/C Pro enables installers to deliver a 100Mbps Ethernet network over existing coaxial cable, which will enable installers to avoid running new Cat-5 cable when connecting Ethernet devices.

“TVnet/C Pro devices are a much-needed innovation for our market, said Ed Constantine, ADI’s product manager for wire and structured cabling products. While running new Ethernet cabling provides a robust and high-speed IP network, it is often prohibitively expensive and time consuming. TVnet/C Pro provides a logical solution that will allow our customers to provide Ethernet-equivalent 100Mbps networking over the existing cable television coax. Since the product functions without disrupting cable TV service, TVnet/C Pro makes the most of the wires that already exist.”

Gregory Boe, vice president of sales at Coaxsys, said, “Our partnership with ADI supports the high-speed and A/V home networking needs of the low-voltage/home security integration market. ADI’s more than 100 branches and loyal customer base will enable us to educate installers on the benefits of leveraging a home’s existing wires instead of rewiring with Cat-5. We are excited to leverage ADI’s extensive Expo and training infrastructure to relay the value of 100Mbps Ethernet-over-coax to their loyal customer base.”

The two companies noted that TVnet/C Pro adapters are available now. A TVnet/C Pro network requires one Master device (ADI – 3Q 190000367) and anywhere from one to eight target devices (ADI – 3Q 190000368).
