Richardson, TX–AMX Corp. has announced that Rashid Skaf has been named president and chief operating officer of the company and will serve on the AMX board of directors. On September 30, 2005, Bob Carroll, the company’s current chairman and CEO, will step down from his position, at which time Skaf will assume the role of CEO.

Carroll will return to his consulting practice as chairman and CEO of Roscommon Ltd., which

“Rashid Skaf is a great business leader and partner. He is the right person to guide AMX as it executes the next phase of its growth plan,” Carroll said. “My focus when I joined AMX four years ago was to restructure and rejuvenate the company. I’m pleased to say that we have not only accomplished these goals, we have positioned AMX to expand its leadership role within the industry. Rashid’s proven success in developing award-winning products and customer-centric initiatives will help guide AMX in new strategic directions.”

I’m extremely honored that Bob and the Duchossois leadership team have asked me to take this position,” Skaf said. “These are exciting times, offering remarkable opportunities for AMX. With the support of our new parent
company, Duchossois Industries, we have embarked on aggressive growth initiatives in the areas of product development, talent recruiting, sales, and marketing. I’m very optimistic about the innovative new programs we are creating to address new and evolving marketplace needs. These programs will accelerate our growth and contribute significantly to the growth of our dealers, distributors and partners.”
