AMX Taps New Operations VP

AMX has appointed Harold Hickey as vice president of operations.

Richardson, TX–AMX has appointed Harold Hickey as vice president of operations. Hickey has held several senior-level positions with Samsung Telecommunications America and Motorola Inc. He replaces Carl Evans who will be stepping down from the position of vice president of operations effective May 1.

As vice president of operations, Hickey’s varied responsibilities include managing manufacturing, distribution, worldwide customer support, and the company’s inventory to ensure its product supply effectively meets customer demand. Hickey reports directly to AMX president and CEO Rashid Skaf and is also a member of the company’s executive management team.

Prior to joining AMX, Hickey was vice president of North American service and operations for Samsung Telecommunications America, where he was responsible for the company’s distribution and logistics, customs compliance, manufacturing engineering, and reverse logistics operations. Hickey also previously worked for Motorola, where he held a variety of operations, sales and marketing positions, including director of North America business operations for the company’s $1.2 billion Personal Communications Sector (PCS) retail division.

“Over the course of the last year, the AMX leadership team strengthened with the appointments of several new executives. The broad technology and business expertise of these individuals has enabled AMX to grow and expand our business, resulting in increased revenue in both the U.S. and abroad,” Skaf said. “In his previous positions, Harold proved that he can streamline and reduce operational costs, and I have no doubt that he will do the same at AMX. By identifying new ways to improve our profit margins, Harold will help position AMX for even more growth in the future.”
