Android Users Get New Options on DTS Play-Fi System

Android-based users of the DTS Play-Fi whole-home wireless ecosystem can now stream Rhapsody and Rdio over wi-fi to their DTS Play-Fi enabled speakers.

Android-based users of the DTS Play-Fi whole-home wireless ecosystem can now stream Rhapsody and Rdio over wi-fi to their DTS Play-Fi enabled speakers.

Rhapsody and Rdio are among the world’s biggest music streaming services, with Rhapsody providing access to more than 34 million songs and Rdio offering a catalog of more than 32 million songs.

According to the company, the DTS Play-Fi gives consumers have the flexibility to mix and match speakers that have different price points and styles, including Definitive Technology, Phorus, Polk, and Wren, with additional brands to be announced.

“Rdio is committed to innovating streaming by simplifying the way people enjoy music,” said Anthony Bay, CEO of Rdio. “We are pleased to further customize the Rdio listening experience by integrating our unsurpassed catalog of more than 35 million songs and powerful music discovery features across the DTS Play-Fi ecosystem.”

In addition, iTunes users can now listen to music over their Play-Fi system in high-resolution audio.
