Gardena, CA–XM Satellite Radio and Antex Electronics have signed an agreement under which Antex will develop and market high-end satellite radio products for receiving XM programming.
The first product developed under the agreement, the
XM-3000 multizone satellite receiver, will be introduced into the Antex TriplePlay line of multizone receivers and will be ready for market later this year.
According to XM director of product marketing, Phil Whitworth, the XM-3000 is a strong response to growing consumer demand for residential XM service, and provides a versatile platform for delivering XM throughout the home.
“We have been pioneers in developing commercial and consumer satellite receivers for digital audio services, and the opportunities presented by this partnership will continue to keep us at the forefront in both the consumer and commercial market segments,” said Antex president, David Foley.
