A new technology partnership between APC by Schneider Electric and ihiji will result in IP-enabled power conditioning products that provide users with remote monitoring and support options, the companies say.
APC believes that its new lineup of IP-enabled power management devices powered by ihiji will enable integrators to reduce service costs and increase system reliability while allowing dealers to better serve customers after installations. The invision remote monitoring and support system can integrate all IP-enabled devices as well as many non-IP devices connected via a control system in a consumer’s home, providing a single point of access to manage equipped home systems remotely through a convenient online support portal.
“With the growing sophistication of home electronics, many consumers want to protect their investments while also managing home theater systems and IP-enabled devices remotely,” said Dave Johnson, senior vice president, home and business networks, APC by Schneider Electric. “Our partnership with ihiji, along with development of new IP-enabled power conditioners, offers consumers a best-in-class solution that optimizes performance of equipment, protects sensitive components and provides convenient remote access.”
Stuart Rench, CEO of ihiji, said that by utilizing the ihiji invision system, APC customers will be able to quickly configure both monitoring and remote support without the need for on-site servers, network configuration, or additional software.
“The low-cost invision appliance is simply plugged into the network,” he explained. “All other configuration can be done conveniently through the cloud-based web interface.”
APC Power Conditioners are designed to protect televisions, home theater surround sound systems, gaming systems, routers, modems and additional home and office equipment from all potential power threats in the home environment, including interference and power spikes.
APC offers a wide range of products compatible with the ihiji invision remote monitoring and support system. APC Smart-UPS, Rack PDUs, and S20BLK Power Conditioners contain the functionality to operate in conjunction with the ihiji invision remote monitoring and support system and have been certified as ihiji invision ready.
