UK-owned Monitor Audio is expanding its speaker choices for integrators at ISE 2010.

Established architectural speakers, including the pivoting 300 series of in-wall/ceiling models, and the company’s new micro-designed CPC120 spot light speaker will be joined by SoundFrame and Apex, which are two new speaker applications making their European show debut.

Monitor Audio’s CPC120 is a loudspeaker that was designed to offer high-performance sound quality from a standard halogen down-lighter hole.

CPC120

At only 80mm diameter, Monitor Audio’s CPC120 is a loudspeaker that was designed to offer high-performance sound quality from a standard halogen down-lighter hole. The secret is a dedicated enclosure for the driver, which is rigid and mineral-filled, giving improved quality and consistency to midrange and bass frequencies. The CPC120 is available with white, chrome, brass, or brushed steel bezels to match the typical downlight finishes.

SoundFrame

Having a depth of just 87mm, SoundFrame’s ultra-thin on-wall cabinet is framed by a choice of high-gloss piano lacquers or by a customised color. The grill cloth design can be customized with any image to match a home’s decor. The

SoundFrame range comprises two models: SoundFrame 1 has the aspect ratio of a typical picture frame and is designed for music and film sound applications in front left/right and surround locations; SoundFrame 2’s proportions are more akin to a longer centre-channel speaker to match TVs or projection screens. It can also be used “in portrait” to flank larger displays.

The SoundFrame cabinets in matte white or black sit flush with the wall by virtue of an easy front connection system, which allows the cable from the wall aperture to enter the back of the cabinet and pass through the speaker to the front-mounted connectors. Each model utilizes a true thre-way full-range driver configuration featuring a pivoting IDC four-inch mid-range/one-inch tweeter module and an eight-inch C-CAM/RST cone bass driver.

Apex
Apex is a flagship range of compact speakers that addresses the market beyond the company’s Radius HD range of compact AV speaker systems. The initial three-model line up in metallic black or white high-gloss piano lacquer comprises a stand/wall-mounting compact satellite, the A10; a larger wall mounting satellite the A40; and a 500W (RMS) active subwoofer, the AW-12.
