Ft. Lauderdale, FL–AVAD, the nationwide distributor, is planning another year of training, along with CEDIA, to offer Installer Level I and II certification.
According to AVAD, the sessions are part of a continual effort to provide AVAD dealers and CEDIA members with a comprehensive service package and industry certification opportunities.
Being CEDIA-certified strengthens any dealers professional credibility and ability to provide the quality services todays customers expect, said Joe Piccirrilli, managing director of AVAD. At AVAD, we understand that when more dealers and installers have a deeper understanding of their field, the whole home technology industry reaps the benefits. Thats why we have made it a priority to provide opportunities for technical education for anyone who seeks it through this great partnership with CEDIA.
To gain nationally recognized CEDIA Certification as an Installer Level I, interested parties must undergo a full-day prep course and examination. For Installer Level II certification, participants must undergo a two-day course. The first day is the review session, and the second day is used for administering the exam. The Installer I and Installer Level II credentials are awarded for a 36-month period. To maintain active status as an Installer Level I or Installer Level II, prior to the conclusion of the 36-month cycle certificants must be able to provide documentation of completion of at least 30 contact clock hours of continuing education units approved by the CEDIA Certification Action Team. Certificants who do not have the required continuing education hours must take and pass the examination within 12 months prior to the expiration date to be eligible to maintain their certification for an additional 36 months.
