Van Nuys, CA — Wally Whinna, vice president of sales and marketing for AVAD LLC, has been elected to serve on the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) Home Audio Division Board. CEA’s Home Audio Division fosters the growing curiosity of surround sound and other home audio technologies and product designs that are ushering in dramatic new ways for people to enjoy music. With over 30 years experience in the audio/visual industry, Whinna’s expertise will serve as a valuable resource on the board for the ever-changing trends in audio reproduction.
“I look forward to using my experience and knowledge to assist in creating action plans that drive awareness with consumers,” said Whinna. “I have fully supported the Home Audio Division’s initiative in directing the industry on issues and technologies that affect our business and am happy to now be a part of it.”
Whinna is one of the original founders of AVAD, where he has served on its Executive Committee and as vice president of marketing since its inception in 1997. In addition to his role at AVAD, Whinna has been a member of CEDIA for 19 years, and a 30-year principal of Tandem Marketing, a manufacturer’s representative that represents companies in specialty audio and custom installation projects.
As a board member of CEA’s Home Audio Division, Whinna will focus on initiatives that promote home audio through media, research, standards development, training and education, and demonstration.
