Simon Spears has been promoted to the position of international sales director at The AVC Group, effective immediately, according to an announcement made by AVC Group president Mark Terry.

Spears is now responsible for sales of all five brands of The AVC Group (ELAN, Niles, Xantech, Sunfire, and ATON) everywhere outside of North America.
“Simon Spears has the experience, skills, and demonstrated track record of success that will help us to achieve our long-term sales objectives in every major region of the world,” Terry said. “In his previous position as international sales director — Rest of World, Simon contributed greatly to our sales growth in the Middle East, Africa, South America, and Australia. I am confident he will do the same great job in Europe and Asia.”
Reporting directly to Mark Terry, Spears will work closely with The AVC Group’s two other international sales managers, Conrad Gonthier in Europe and Claude Sabourin in Asia, to develop and implement integrated sales and market development program that support all five brands of The AVC Group.
“I am honored to have the opportunity to put my experience directly to work for these great brands in every part of the world,” Spears said. “We have accomplished a great deal in a very short time, but much work remains to be done. We now have a consolidated distributor network in place that is ready to deliver the kind of sales results the brands deserve and I am going to see to it that all our distributors have the right programs and incentives needed to generate solidly strong sales for all of our brands.”
Before joining The AVC Group in January 2011, Simon Spears served for five years as the international sales manager of Niles Audio. From 1995 until 2005 he was president of SJS Consultancy based in London, England. Prior to this he served as operations manager of CEDIA UK from 1996 through 2001. From 1990 through 1995 he was head of the consumer products division of Harman International UK. Other industry experience includes senior international sales management positions at both Acoustic Research and Mission Electronics. Simon Spears studied business at the University of Hertfordshire in England from 1974 — 1977.
