Global Caché has entered into a strategic partnership with Bang & Olufsen. The partnership ensures integration of Global Caché connectivity hardware and Bang & Olufsen’s new IP based BeoLink Gateway, part of the B&O BeoLink SmartHome. Used together, any IR, serial, or relay device can be network-enabled and automated using IFTTT (If This Then That) commands and become part of the IoT (Intenet of things) infrastructure.
Global Caché products are based on open systems and industry standards enabling easy integration and compatibility with other technology products. Global Caché hardware connects IR, serial, and contact closure device to a WiFi and/or IP network so it can be controlled, automated, and maintained by network-based software.
Bang & Olufsen has launched the BeoLink SmartHome where a multitude of technologies can be integrated through a secure, remote, cloud-based connection enabling control of hundreds of third-party devices and home automation systems.
“This partnership and the BeoLink SmartHome platform are an enormous jump forward in the quest for interoperabilty and open systems,” said Global Caché VP Robin Ford. “Bang & Olufsen is such an amazing company, held in the highest regard in the AV industry for their quality products. We have many installers that have used GC products with Bang & Olufsen for quite some time, and now we are a supported part of their SmartHome ecosystem. We know this will make our dealer/installer channel very happy.”
Brian Bjorn Hansen, head of system solutions for Bang and Olufsen agrees. “This new partnership is an important element of our expansion into seamless smarthome integration with our new BeoLink Gateway. Built-in support for Global Caché devices allows our dealers to instantly connect, control, and automate devices without a previous network connection. This was an easy decision as so many of our channel have been successfully using Global Caché and Bang & Olufsen products together for some time.”
