By RS Staff Published: January 24, 2017 ⋅ Updated: April 15, 2019 Bluesound joined the Digital Entertainment Group (DEG) as its newest member. The membership became official at the recent International Consumer Electronics Show 2017 (CES) in Las Vegas. The DEG advocates and promotes entertainment platforms, products, and distribution channels to support the movie, television, music, consumer electronics and IT industries. It includes members such as Sony Music Entertainment, Universal Music Group, and Warner Music Group. “We’re very excited to join DEG and look forward to actively participating in the important work they do to promote hi-res audio to music enthusiasts everywhere,” said Dean Miller, president of Lenbrook Americas, a subsidiary of Bluesound’s parent company. Miller will serve as the company’s designated representative at DEG’s gatherings and events. “DEG is delighted to be able to welcome Bluesound, a brand with a lot of credibility in hi-fi, to participate,” said Marc Finer, senior director of DEG. “We believe that focused marketing initiatives on high-resolution audio by leading providers like Bluesound will generate the necessary awareness to take this category to a whole new level.” At CES, Bluesound participated with DEG in the High-Res Audio Pavilion in the Central Hall. The 50-by-40-foot exhibit was specifically designed to highlight the key benefits of studio-quality music and demonstrate the end-to-end process of achieving high-resolution sound from studio recording through to choosing premium playback device capable of decoding high-resolution audio storage and delivery formats.
