Bond has announced today that fabric manufacturer Twitchell’s new Tri-Power tubular shade motors work with Bond. Tri-Power is Twitchell’s first motor offering, designed for interior and exterior shade customers and with Bond compatibility as an essential element.
The Bond Bridge RF-to-Wi-Fi device gateways, Sidekick for Shades (Gen 4) on-wall keypad, and Mate Pro outdoor remote all bring specialized smart control to the Tri-Power motors. These motors can be found in the Bond Home App, making for easy setup, pairing, and, if needed, direct tech support from Bond.
The Bond Bridge ($129 MSRP) brings app-based smartphone control and integration with popular virtual assistance platforms like Google Home and Amazon Alexa. The Bridge can connect to 30 window shade and ceiling fan motors and has a range of 2500 sq. ft.
The Bond Bridge Pro ($379 MSRP) is optimized for home automation systems like Apple, Crestron, Control4, URC, etc. It can connect to 50 motors and has a range of 3500 sq. ft. For larger jobs multiple Bond Bridge Pros can be used.
The Sidekick for Shades ($99 MSRP) battery-powered, on-wall keypad delivers direct 1- or 5-channel control to an unlimited number of motors. The remote can also be removed from its flush-mount Decora wall plate and used as a handheld.
Bond’s Mate Pro ($289 MSRP) 15-channel handheld universal remote control brings smart manual and automated control to an unlimited number of motors. Wet-rated, the remote control can be left outdoors without worry.
At present, operating the Sidekick for Shades and Mate Pro direct RF (radio frequency) remote controls with the Tri-Power motors require the use of the Bond Bridge Pro. According to Bond CEO Zohar Shinar, as the products mature, this will no longer be the case.
In these integrations with the Bond Bridge Pro, both the Sidekick and Mate Pro introduce enhanced functionality. This includes the Bond Home App’s ability to show the status of each shade motor’s operation (i.e., opening, closing) and the ability to trigger multiple shades at once.
Twitchell is a domestic textile manufacturer specializing in weaving interior and exterior fabrics for residential, commercial, marine, and hurricane markets. Complementing their versatile fabric portfolio, Twitchell is expanding their vision with their introduction of the Tri-Power motors to the industry.
For interior applications, the Tri-Power motors make use of Smart Power technology. This allows for the motors to be used as rechargeable battery motors or in a hardwired installation where they can power up to 40 motors on up to 1000 feet of daisy-chained wiring, all from a single 65W power supply.
