Capitol Appoints Telecom Tech Support, Sales Specialist

Electronics distributor Capitol has hired telecom expert Scott Goldsborough to lead the company’s team of technical sales specialists.

Electronics distributor Capitol has hired telecom expert Scott Goldsborough to lead the company’s team of technical sales specialists.

Capitol’s president and CFO, Curt Hayes, said that Goldsborough’s extensive background as a co-founder of GTS, Inc.—an interconnect company that also sold Panasonic telephone systems—makes him especially qualified for his new position as Capitol’s telecom tech support and sales.

“Like so many of our customers, Scott is a true entrepreneur that built his business from the ground up, educating himself and ultimately his clients on telecom systems are an important part of any dealer or integrator’s business,” Hayes said. “Scott had a front-row seat for the emergence of IP in telecom, and he’s able to use his knowledge and experience on the front line to our customers’ benefit.”

As the co-founder of GTS, Goldsborough, who co-managed the business, focused on the technical advancements that would improve efficiency and reducing overhead. Prior to GTS, Goldsborough held positions with Mitel and NCS.

“I opened my first retail store [Fones-2-Own] in 1984, and since then I’ve seen the development of telephony and related technologies move faster every year,” Goldsborough said. “I was a Capitol customer long before joining the team. When everyone else was paying little attention to telephony over IP, Capitol was a big proponent of the opportunities for dealers and installers to increase profitability through this important category.”
