With continued growth expectations, that company is making enhancements to support its nationwide dealer network.

St. Paul, MN–With continued growth expectations, Capitol Sales Company is making enhancements to support its nationwide dealer network. By installing a new shipping roller system, it has tripled the daily processing capacity in customer shipping. This strategic shipping development will allow Capitol Sales to accelerate growth while maintaining a 98.5 percent same-day shipping performance.

Customers depend on Capitol Sales to ship orders the same day they are placed. This investment enables our customers the ability to keep their inventory costs low; they rely on us day-in and day-out for fast delivery, said Curt Hayes, President and Chief Financial Officer of Capitol Sales Company. Every day we look for opportunities to constantly improve our warehouse management. We need to maintain our performance standards, especially as we achieve continued growth.

Weve tripled the size of our conveyor system and increased our packing stations by 400 percent, explained Hayes. This has significantly enhanced our capacity. Now we can deliver cartons via conveyor directly into the trailer to be unloaded by one person. Prior to this change, we packaged products onto a pallet, shrinkwrapped the pallet and then moved it to the trailer.

By handling a box only once or twice instead of multiple times, Capitol Sales has seen one added benefit for the warehouse team. Our warehouse team members see incredible value with fewer touch points on each box, said Hayes. Any time we increase efficiency in our organization, its another way support and maintain a strong morale in our organization, which is important to us.
