CasaTunes, a supplier of streaming multi-room music solutions, has released a new driver to allow RTI dealers to design in CasaTunes systems and a new version of CasaTunes software that allows CasaTunes’ line of Streamer products to control and supply music to RTI’s line of audio distribution products, even when not used with RTI’s controllers.
CasaTunes offers both the CT8 and CT4S music servers.
“With the integration of CasaTunes Streamers, our dealers have a great option to offer their clients; allowing them to seamlessly integrate and control streaming media via CasaTunes, in their RTI distributed audio systems,” said Pete Baker, VP of sales and marketing with RTI. “This new driver with CasaTunes provides an enhanced interactive user experience using CasaTunes RTI control devices, and our audio distribution products.”
The CasaTunes driver for RTI enables RTI dealers to integrate CasaTunes systems into a home that is controlled by RTI’s two-way controllers. RTI customers can enjoy all of CasaTunes features, including the unique ability to play music from iOS devices through CasaTunes to any room or rooms, whether wired outputs or AirPlay speakers using CasaTunes Air, and the ability to send music to wired speakers, as well as wireless AirPlay speakers throughout the house. Even if the RTI customer has some rooms wired and some rooms set up with AirPlay, CasaTunes will play the music to any combination of rooms, with the music always in sync, the company says. As in all CasaTunes systems, the music is always played using full, lossless CD quality.
“We want to make it as easy as possible for dealers to add CasaTunes and our integration with RTI enables dealers to include CasaTunes with home automation and control installations,” said Kim Knapp, VP of CasaTunes. “In turn, our driver makes it easy for homeowners to play and listen to music throughout the house using the familiar RTI interface devices.”
Using the new driver with the example UIs, RTI dealers can create user interfaces that take advantage of CasaTunes’ ability to play the homeowners iTunes or Windows Media music along with radio stations from around the world and premium music services, like Grooveshark, SiriusXM, Slacker, Spotify, and Pandora.
In addition to the release of the RTI Driver, CasaTunes has added built-in support for the RTI AD-4/8/4x/8x in the CasaTunes Streamer product line. Simply take a CasaTunes multi-room music Streamer, connect it to the RTI audio distribution (AD) system with the supplied serial cable and choose the correct AD system in CasaTunes’ easy to use CasaSetup program. Since CasaTunes has complete control of the RTI AD system, integrating is quick and simple, according to the company. The CasaTunes multi-room music Streamer and the RTI AD combination can stand alone without any RTI controllers and is controlled using any CasaTunes apps or other control method. Alternatively, in an RTI-controlled home, the CasaTunes multi-room music Streamer and AD system combo can be controlled using the RTI controller and control interfaces, including RTI’s iPad and Android based RTI Panel apps.
