The Catalyst AV network of 11 independent consumer electronics distributors has welcomed its newest board member, Chris Gentile, VP of sales and operations at Marietta, GA-based AHA Distributing.

Gentile joins existing board members Dan Haight (Pioneer Music Company), Wally Whinna (Allnet Distributing), and executive director, Helge Fischer.

Catalyst AV, which has 24 locations for its dealer/integrator partners to access throughout the U.S., believes Gentile brings a fresh perspective to the group.

“I want to bring a revitalizing point of view to the established member base,” Gentile said. “My goal is to have that 30,000-foot view of what opportunities are out there for the Catalyst AV members and work together to implement those accordingly.

“I want to evaluate what I see happening in the marketplace and spearhead some exciting new initiatives. Part of that will also mean designing parameters, timeframes, and deadlines that need to be met. It is all about how the Internet of Things and networking systems going forward are going to become even more complicated, and that is just one of the reasons why Catalyst AV is so valuable to its membership.”

Gentile contends that Catalyst AV members provide more personalized support than many of the “solely web centric organizations out there.”

“Our industry deals in complicated systems and we have to provide the level of training and one-on-one, face-to-face support that is making Catalyst AV famous and the Catalyst AV members unique,” Gentile said.
