The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) has released the Master Installation Technician Study Guide, Second Edition under its Mobile Electronics Certified Professionals (MECP) program. Designed as a comprehensive study resource for the highest level of certification available for a mobile electronics technician, the expanded guide covers the material necessary to achieve Master Installation Technician status.

The MECP Master Installation Technician Study Guide covers advanced electronics theory and application along with a number of exciting new updates. The expanded guide now includes new comprehensive sections on topics including:
•Electric vehicle recommended installation practices
•Troubleshooting remote starters and data interfaces
•Application-specific oscilloscope measurements
•Driver safety systems (i.e., lane departure, forward collision and blind spot warnings)

Until then, the current MECP master exam will apply to the previous (first edition) MECP Master Installation Technician Study Guide, originally published in 2007. This allows technicians preparing to take the master level exam enough time to accommodate testing prior to the mid-February transition.
