CEDIA Expands e-Learning Offerings

Indianapolis, IN — Through new live courses, reduced rates and select free webinars, the Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association (CEDIA) is expanding access to its Web-based education. Each week April through August, CEDIA University’s e-Learning program will deliver a packaged electronic education experience that includes a podcast, a new instructor-led webinar and a free instructor-led webinar from the e-Learning archives. CEDIA University has also sharply reduced rates for all existing e-Learning courses.

Each Monday beginning April 13, CEDIA will offer a new 20-minute podcast led by an expert instructor. Each podcast features an overview of a course from either the Electronic Systems Business, Electronic Systems Customer Relations, Electronic Systems Designer or Electronic Systems Technician college. On Wednesdays, CEDIA will expand on the course introduced in the podcast with a full instructor-led webinar. In addition, each Friday CEDIA will select a course from the library of on-demand webinars and open it up to CEDIA members for one week of free access.

CEDIA University’s e-Learning allows electronic systems professionals to access the industry’s best training at affordable rates without travel. The new e-Learning offerings will provide another cost-effective option for businesses looking to make wise investments in their employees in the current tough economy. CEDIA’s e-Learning program includes two series of courses: the on-demand series offers selected courses in a self-led, self-paced format, while the instructor-led series offers live 90- and 180-minute courses led by expert instructors. Instructor-led courses are recorded and archived for later purchase by those unable to attend the live webinar.

“We recognize that in these times, many businesses are looking to cut expenses anywhere they can,” said Michael Creeden, who serves as the CEDIA University education council chair. “By making continued training and education more affordable, we hope to make it easy for companies to decide to continue investing in that element of their businesses. Developing your team is as important now as it has ever been.”

In addition to the new offerings, CEDIA will continue to offer its on-demand courses as well as the archived sessions from the series of live, instructor-led webinars held in 2008. Prices for both the on-demand courses and instructor-led webinars have been reduced.
