CEDIA wouldn’t survive without the energy and fresh perspectives of its legion of loyal industry volunteers. To honor these integral contributions, the association has named three of its members—Ian Bryant, Mike Maniscalco, and Ryan Donaher, as its 2016 top overall volunteer, top training volunteer, and top new volunteer, respectively.
Each winner has contributed significant time and lent their expertise to help develop and refine CEDIA programs and offerings.
The recipients for 2016 are as follows:
Ian Bryant – Volunteer of the Year ZenArray
Bryant has been an integral member of several volunteer groups over the years, and this year was no exception. According to CEDIA, Bryant is the jack-of-all-trades volunteer who is always willing to roll up his sleeves to help. He’s known around the office and among other volunteers for his passion to make CEDIA programs and training sessions the best they can be. His dedication to the training team earned him the Training Volunteer of the Year Award in 2011. This year Ian has served on the Technical Working Group and chaired the CEDIA Home Technology Professional Awards Judging Task Force. Beyond these two commitments, he has also been indispensable in helping set up the training labs at the CEDIA show. And as if this was not already enough, as an Indianapolis resident, Ian often lends his talents to help CEDIA HQ update and program in-house technology.
Mike Maniscalco – Training Volunteer of the Year ihiji
Maniscalco has been a consistent force for CEDIA education and training over the last year serving on Business Xchange Task Force and the IT Task Force as well as teaching several in-person training courses for CEDIA. Maniscalco is always willing to create new content and teach a new multi-day class. He’s always interested in finding the topics that matter to our industry the best way to convey that information. Few volunteers regularly teach both technical and business subjects, which makes Maniscalco indispensable for industry training efforts, according to CEDIA.
Ryan Donaher – New Volunteer of the Year MAI
This year Donaher joined the Membership Committee with commitment and an energy that is contagious, CEDIA says. In his first year of volunteering, Donaher has contributed above and beyond, posing thoughtful questions and continually keeping the entire organization’s interests in mind in everything he does. He embraces the spirit and community CEDIA wants to share and consistently steps up whenever and wherever help is needed, whether that means being a panelist on a new member webinar or calling members to get them engaged with the organization.
These three volunteers will be recognized for their contributions at the Volunteer Appreciation Event in the CEDIA Booth 4710 on Friday, September 16 at 11:00 a.m. at CEDIA 2016.
