Indianaplois, IN–CEDIA’s Ken Smith, inspired to raise funds for cancer research, cycled 1204 miles Falmouth, Maine, to Indianapolis, Indiana.

Smith started his epic trek on the morning of August 24th. He averaged 109 miles each day of his journey and arrived in Indianapolis just in time for CEDIA EXPO’s opening ceremony.

On www.customelectronics.com, the website of Smith’s custom AV firm, Custom Electronics, visitors can find an email log of Smith’s on-the-road adventures and links to donate money. The site has raised an excess of $15,000 in pledges so far, which will all be donated to the Lance Armstrong Foundation. He is encouraging people to continue donating via his website.

“They keep saying they want to cure cancer by 2015,” Smith noted. “I hope they do.”
