Washington D.C.–DMX Music Inc. finalized the sale of it’s wholly owned division RCI Custom Products to Cervant Inc., a Washington D.C.-area company owned and operated by A/V industry veteran Doug Macuch. Since the beginning of 1992, Macuch has been the business unit manager of RCI Custom Products, a manufacturer of custom wall plates, rack panels, and accessories. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
“As with the sale of our in-flight division, the sale of RCI allows us to focus on our core business,” said Paul Stone of DMX Music. “The transaction is a win-win as we continue to focus on the core operation and, at the same time, continue working with RCI.”
Originally a division of the RCI Systems group in Rockville, Maryland, RCI Custom was purchased by DMX Music May of 2000 as part of the RCI Systems Acquisition that year.
“It’s an exciting time for everyone at RCI Custom,” said Macuch. “Many of us have been here since the beginning, so returning to the small business model is really a full circle event.” Referring to the acquisition process, Macuch added, “I’ve been very blessed in that we have managed to keep our entire team intact through this transition, and I look forward to growing this business with effort and enthusiasm over the next several months. The folks at the new DMX Music really worked hard with us through the negotiation process to help position the business for success, and I’m grateful to them for that.”
