CONNECTIONS Addresses Digital Living Growth

The digital home conference will take place in early May.

Dallas TX–Parks Associates and the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) have released the preliminary agenda for CONNECTIONS: The Digital Home Conference and Showcase.

This marketing conference, to be held May 11-13, 2005, at the Hyatt Regency near the San Francisco Airport in Burlingame, California, combines Parks Associates’ market and consumer expertise with insights from key industry strategists to provide a comprehensive analysis of current and future “Digital Living” technologies.

Parks Associates’ research shows that roughly one-third of all U.S. households now have broadband access and nearly 20 million have a home network. The combination of these solutions is changing the paradigm for access to mainstream music, movies, television programs, and games. Currently one-third of all Internet households listen to online radio stations each month, and a comparable number download music files. Likewise, 10 percent of all Internet households access on-demand video content each month.

“The growth in these markets has created excitement from both consumer and industry perspectives,” said Tricia Parks, president of Parks Associates. “CONNECTIONS” is a unique event that examines business models, marketing strategies, and consumer adoption patterns in formulating coherent strategies that will harness the inherent potential in these growing markets.”

The CONNECTIONS agenda addresses the following topics and will include the following speakers, among others:

-Digital Entertainment and Multimedia Applications

-Home Networking and Residential Gateways

-Consumer Mobility and Device/Content Portability

-Applications, Services, and Consumer Value

Confirmed CONNECTIONS speakers include:
