Control4 Creates Management Program

Control4 will host ongoing management training sessions for its nationwide network of dealers.

Salt Lake City, UT–Control4 will host ongoing management training sessions for its nationwide network of dealers.

The first conference, held August 11-12, 2005, at the Control4 headquarters in Salt Lake City, included more than 30 dealers and focused on management and business tools to help dealers grow their businesses in an increasingly competitive marketplace. Subsequent sessions will be held on a bi-monthly basis, with the next one taking place on November 10 11, 2005.

“The home automation market is growing faster now than at any time in the history of this industry,” said Will West, chief executive officer, Control4. “In a high growth environment, there are both opportunities and threats. If you are prepared for growth, the benefits can be incredible. Our goal in hosting these sessions is to help our dealer partners be ready, with the necessary management skills in place, to benefit from the industry growth and take their businesses to the next level and beyond.”

The first conference included sessions on strategy, marketing, operations management, sales and finance. CEO Will West led the discussion on business strategy and vision, with subsequent sessions being led by Control4 executives including Glen Mella, chief marketing officer; Mark Morgan, vice president of marketing; Bob Pankratz, vice president of sales; Jim Gist, director of
business development; Mark Novakovitch, controller; and Caleb Demke, senior financial analyst. Future conference topics will be tailored to meet the evolving needs of dealers and integrators based on ongoing feedback from attendees. Excluding travel, all costs for the conference are being covered by Control4.

“Control4 has embarked on a unique initiative to improve the business acumen of the CEDIA channel,” said Gordon van Zuiden, president of cyberManor, LLC. “I found their two-day course on business strategy, marketing, sales, and finance to be a great collection of time-proven ideas from a seasoned management team. With the appropriate dose of Control 4’s business medicine and product solutions, our company hopes to grow from a $1 million per year revenue run rate to $10 million per year over the next five years.”
