Napster offers more than 15 million songs that can be streamed seamlessly through the Control4 Listen experience anywhere in your home. A complement to the new Control4 HC-800 and HC-250 controllers, users simply have to touch the “Listen” button on the Control4 interface and access Napster’s music collection.
“Having the Napster digital music service integrated into the Control4 system, the way Rhapsody is in the U.S., comes with a wealth of benefits our customers will just love. We’ve seen how it enhances the individual music experience, which extends to a multi-room Control4 audio solution,” said Control4 Senior VP of Sales, Jim Arnold.
“We want to offer users a wide selection of music everywhere they want to listen,” says Patric Niederländer, senior director business development, Rhapsody Europe. “Through cooperation with Control4, we are bringing a high-fidelity Napster experience into the home on a sophisticated home automation system.”
Music discovery is a foundational benefit of the Napster digital music subscription service. Napster provides a tool to guide users through its extensive up-to-date music library; while the Control4 system delivers simple navigation experience through a single, onscreen interface whether that’s the TV, Control4 touchscreen, smart phone, tablet, or personal computer.
This multi-room music experience is maximized on the new flagship HC-800 and the HC-250 controllers. Users can create scenes that gently wake users to their favorite Napster tracks while slowly opening the blinds or ramping up the lights; generate playlists that source from stored content to today’s hot digital releases; or simply enjoy a favorite radio station without the commercials.
“Control4 and Napster offer an uncompromised multi-room music experience that we’re thrilled to bring to the UK and German markets,” concluded Arnold.
A 30-day Napster trial will be available to Control4 customers who become new Napster members. The integrated support for Control4 will be available end of June.
