Crestron Expands Pyng Capabilities

Crestron expanded the capabilities of its Pyng control hub and app to enable set up of multiroom-audio systems via a tablet instead of a laptop.

Crestron expanded the capabilities of its Pyng control hub and app to enable set up of multiroom-audio systems via a tablet instead of a laptop.

 The Pyng hub now connects to Crestron multiroom-audio systems to enable setup via a Pyng smartphone app.

The app and hub, launched at last year’s CEDIA Expo, reduce installation time and boost ESCs’ margins by letting installers use tablets rather than laptops to configure installer-grade home-automation products equipped with the company’s infiNET EX wireless mesh-network technology. The app and hub already enable configuration and control of Crestron’s infiNET EX-equipped lighting products, motorized shades, thermostats, occupancy sensors, and door locks. The products connect via RF to the Pyng hub.

The solution makes unnecessary the programming expertise currently required of home-automation systems that must be programmed via laptop, the company said.
