Ambler, PA–Crystal View has introduced Sound-Art, a custom bezel that integrates a Snell loudspeaker system into its CVP-43 and CVP-50 plasma displays.

The Crystal View CVP-43HD and CVP-50HD plasma displays are both available with the Sound-Art solution for a suggested retail price of $12,995 and $16,995 respectively. A clear-coated, black gloss finish is standard, however a wide range of custom colors and finishes, including a selection of wood veneers is also available.

Sound-Art is the result of collaboration between Crystal View and Snell Acoustics and features a two-way loudspeaker design. Each side of Sound-Art integrates two 5.25-inch woofers and a one-inch aluminum dome tweeter, arranged in a DAppolito Array (named for Snells chief engineer). Performance is achieved at 70Hz to 20kHz at levels up to 103dB, using amplifiers from 25 to 150 watts.

Sound-Arts frame matches the 3 7/8ths depth of the Crystal View plasma display panels. The frame is machined from a solid block of furniture-grade MDF wood. The speaker enclosures use Snells Quiet Box technology, in which inner and outer cabinet layers sandwich a damping layer of Noise Killer, for a high level of structural integrity and smooth bass response, even at loud volumes.

“Crystal View has always strived to provide the finest home theater video products,” stated Crystal View sales and marketing vice president, David Wolff. “Sound-Art represents the best possible audio solution to perfectly complement our plasma products and is guaranteed to please both the interior design-conscious homeowner and home theater enthusiast alike. Now, everybody wins.”
