The Imaging Science Foundation, or ISF, has certified Elite Prime Vision’s DarkStar 9 ALR projection screen for its balanced color temperature.
“The DarkStar 9 took an already successful new product to a new high by achieving its ISF certification,” said Jeff Klida, VP of sales for Elite Prime Vision. “The DarkStar 9 uses its micro-filter design for eliminating the wash-out effects of ambient light, and now maintains D65 color neutrality for superior picture quality that exceeds what professional integrators are asking for.”

“ISF works with the majority of projector manufacturers to deliver factory presets that are close to calibrated,” said Joel Silver, president of the ISF. “Matching that preset with an ISF Certified screen provides the best option for those who do not have a calibrator on site during installation. Many thanks to Elite Screens for delivering ISF certified screens with accurate color!"

The ISF is in the display standards industry and has been dedicated to improving the quality of electronic imaging since 1994. It also serves the industry by consulting with manufacturers regarding product development, offers certification training, media communications, and ISF licensing.

ISF endorses products that contribute to systems with "high fidelity video" through formal licensing programs. It has two licensing programs: One is based on compliance with standards for video performance and the other, ISFccc, is for HDTV products that are engineered for calibration. Those products can be calibrated for their specific brand's optimal performance for both day and night modes and will feature locking memories to ensure that client's investments in ISF calibrations are secure.

The DarkStar 9 ALR projection screen has a 0.9 gain format that tones down the reflective brightness to produce its stunning 180-degree viewing angle. Its ISF-certified D65 color neutrality ensures that the DarkStar 9 will always perform within the coveted SMPTE 0.004 standard while it does not impede a UHD projector’s wide color gamut that exceeds the Rec. 709 color graph.
