Scottsdale, AZ — DBL Distributing, one of the largest wholesalers of consumer electronics and accessories in the United States, hosted its annual Charity Golf Tournament on Friday April 17 and the DBL Vendor Expo on Saturday, April 18 2009. This year’s annual events generated proceeds in excess of $100,000. Over the 10-year history of this event, DBL has raised more than $950,000 for charity.
As the company has expanded throughout the years, it has made a commitment to giving back to those who are less fortunate. “We feel it is very important to give back to a community that has been so supportive throughout our 20 years of business,” stated Tim Coakley, senior VP of merchandising for DBL Distributing. “Through the excellent support and sponsorships from our vendor community, DBL raised over $100,000 for very deserving children affiliated with the ANNIKA foundation and the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Scottsdale.”

DBL’s Charity golf tournament commenced with a brief golf demonstration by the most famous woman golfer in history, Annika Sorenstam. Immediately following, 150 players began the tournament with a shot gun start on the JW Marriott’s Palmer course. Former LPGA superstar Annika Sorenstam and current LPGA player Alena Sharp interacted with the golfers throughout the day with best ball contests at designated holes. Following the day’s festivities, DBL’s manufacturer representatives hosted a cocktail reception and silent auction for all attendees where prizes were awarded for best team score, longest drive and closest to the pin. The success of this charity event was due in large part from DBL’s generous sponsors, including Sony, Omnimount, Philips, Samsung, Xentris, Pentax, Steren, Olympus, Fruwt, SteelSeries, Belkin, AIT, Monster Cable, and Sunpak.
On April 18, DBL featured product presentations from 120 of DBL’s industry leading manufacturers at the DBL Vendor Expo. This tabletop tradeshow was geared to facilitate product education and important selling features through hands-on product demonstrations and informative discussions with DBL’s manufacturers. To coincide with the release of the new DBL catalog, the show focused on the new products and accessories. DBL received record breaking attendance of close to 600 attendees, making this event the largest in DBL’s history. Returning vendors include Samsung, Sony, Sherwood, JBL, Omnimount, NXG Technology and many more. New DBL vendors to exhibit at this year’s event include Flip Video, BBE, Cuisinart, and Radius headphones, just to name a few.
Throughout the day, Samsung conducted best-in-class break-out sessions, showcasing Samsung’s new LED technology from their newest TVs, superior sound quality featured in their home theater sound systems and the true HD picture quality experienced through their new Blu-ray players.
Back by popular demand, DBL’s Vendor Expo honored this season’s innovative products at their Spirit of Innovation Awards. DBL collected nominations for some of the ground-breaking products featured in their new Spring/Summer catalog. With the help of DBL’s customer community, DBL collected votes to decipher which products reign superior over the competition. At the DBL Vendor Expo, DBL recognized Dane-Elec, Omnimount, Cheetah, Sennheiser for their ground-breaking products.
