Scottsdale, AZ–DBL Distributing has made key executive appointments in the areas of marketing and purchasing designed to enhance the company’s future growth. With the appointments of Henry Chiarelli as senior vice president of merchandising and marketing and Steve Bell as vice president of purchasing, DBL said it has added two consumer electronics experts with vast industry knowledge and experience.
“Over the last several years, we have made significant realignments within the DBL organization to serve the marketplace and our customers more efficiently,” said David Lorsch, CEO, DBL Distributing Inc. “In 2004, we relocated to a new corporate headquarters and state-of-the-art distribution center. We have since redefined the way we market to our customers through expanded partnerships with new and existing manufacturing partners which now exceed 340 brand names. Additionally, our continued focus on infrastructure and technology is critical in managing year over year double digit growth while maintaining solid customer relationships.”
Chiarelli, a 35-year industry veteran, will oversee the teams that manage DBL’s merchandising, marketing and purchasing strategies. In his role, he will manage the development, maintenance, and improvement of all of DBL’s products, from customer offerings to business services. Chiarelli has formerly served as president of Radioshack.com, senior VP of merchandising and marketing for Computer City, vice president of merchandising for CompUSA, vice president and general manager of Incredible Universe, and senior vice president of retail support services for Mc Duff Electronics, VideoConcepts, and Scott Appliance. He has acquired extensive experience in consumer electronic sales, marketing and merchandising, and is active on various boards, including the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) where he is currently the chair of the Education and Best Practices committees for the Accessories Division.
Bell will have responsibility for managing corporate buying staff and relationships with existing and future manufacturing partners. He will be responsible for developing and implementing inventory management metrics, systems and processes including overall product selection, pricing and stocking levels. A seasoned veteran of the consumer electronics industry with more than 40 years of experience, Bell previously held several management positions in purchasing and marketing with well-known consumer electronics entities. He served as senior vice president of Wall to Wall Sound and Video, general manager of J&R Music World, and most recently as general manager of Electronics EXPO.
