DBL Hosts Successful Golf Charity

The event and vendor exposition raised more than $135,000 for four worthy charities.

Scottsdale, AZ–DBL Distributing hosted its Charity Golf Tournament and Vendor Expo the weekend of Friday, April 11th and Saturday, April 12th 2008. This year’s events generated proceeds in excess of $135,000 for The Jewish Family and Children Services of Greater Phoenix, The Boys and Girls Club of Greater Scottsdale, The United Way and The Magic Johnson Foundation, a division of the Samsung Four Seasons of Hope.

“We would like to thank our generous manufacturers and contributing partners for their generous donations to our selected charities,” said Henry Chiarelli, president of DBL Distributing. “In continuing with the traditions that David Lorsch began, it is important to give back to our community. We look forward to continuing these events in the future.”

This year’s western themed golf event, named the DBL Charity Round-Up, was held at the Troon North Golf Club. The festivities began with a shotgun-start golf-scramble for 133 golfers. To end the eventful day, DBL’s manufacturer’s representatives hosted a cocktail awards reception for all participating golfers with music provided by XM Satellite Radio. At this event, Henry Chiarelli, president of DBL Distributing, acknowledged the representatives from the 4 worthy charities.

On Saturday, April 12th, DBL hosted its semi-annual Vendor Expo at the Four Seasons Resort at Troon North, featuring new products from 111 manufacturers. This tabletop tradeshow was geared to foster product education to DBL sales associates and DBL customers through hands-on product demonstrations and informative discussions with DBL’s manufacturers. Philips, Samsung, Monster Cable, JBL, Sherwood, XM Radio, Sony and Benq were a few of the participating vendors, showcasing their new products at the exposition.

With over 550 attendees, this event far surpasses attendance from previous events! The consensus at the event was largely positive with very positive feedback from the customers that attended the event. “The DBL Vendor Expo gets bigger and better each time,” stated Mark Rogers, owner of Pacific Marketplace in Oceanside, California. “By attending this great event, I am able to provide my customers with expert product knowledge and offer suggestions of new products I have not carried in the past. I applaud DBL for offering their customers such an insightful and informative day.”

New and existing manufacturers found increasing value in exhibiting at this event. “DBL did an excellent job of allowing manufacturers to educate the DBL sales team and customers on the advantages of Benq products,” stated Mitch Rauch, Associate Vice President for Benq. “I feel as though I secured some excellent contacts and potential retail customers and was able to heighten Benq products amongst the competition.”

“This weekend’s events were a success on many levels,” stated Tim Coakley, Senior Vice President of Merchandising for DBL Distributing. “DBL was able to facilitate excellent education and foster cohesiveness between our manufacturers, DBL account managers and customers. Furthermore, we were able to donate the money earned from this weekend’s festivities to four excellent charities.”
