Harrisburg, PA–D&H Distributing, the major computer products and consumer electronics distributor, has opened its first international warehouse location in Mississauga, Ontario in Toronto, Canada. As of July 9, 2007, D&H Canada ULC is expanding the distributor’s value-added, personalized customer service model to this new geography, serving IT resellers, CE dealers, independent retailers, etailers, integrators and installers. The expansion into Canada is expected to yield more than 1,000 new, active customers for D&H’s North American base, and will establish the company as a multi-national distributor. D&H Canada ULC is a wholly owned subsidiary of D&H Distributing.
The company will offer its successful business model to the same customer profiles in Canada that its has served in the US for decades, including a solid focus on the SMB reseller, with additional emphasis on custom system builders, consumer electronics dealers and the digital home market, education, small office/home office, independent retailers and etailers, and the custom installer market.
“This is an exciting development for D&H, since it marks our transition to a larger, multi-national organization. Our main goal is to extend the D&H culture of reseller- and dealer-focused programs and best-in-class service to a fresh geography,” said Gary Brothers, president at D&H Distributing. “Making business easier and more convenient for our customers has always been the standard at D&H. We’re proud to welcome a whole new community of resellers which we hope will take advantage of that support.”
The distributor’s motivation to expand north came due to various requests from both Canadian resellers and manufacturer partners who serve (or want to serve) the Canadian marketplace and want to take advantage of D&H’s highly-regarded services. Similarly, current D&H vendor partners, for whom the distributor has achieved notable domestic goals, have made overtures to have the distributor help them penetrate new markets in Canada as well.
While D&H has been acknowledged for its unique vendor and product offerings, the company will also represent highly-recognized partners in Canada such as Acer, Brother, Creative Labs, Linksys, Logitech, ViewSonic and many others.
Said Terry Tomecek, general manager of Acer’s business in Canada: “We’ve been consistently impressed with the targeted strategies D&H has used to drive our PC business in the US, and we’re looking forward to seeing the company apply its brand of business in a new, high-potential market. We’re proud to support their latest action toward growth.”
“Logitech has seen such positive experiences in the channel while working with D&H that we’re more than excited to follow them into the Canadian marketplace,” said Logitech’s Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Marketing Jerry Quindlen. “Dealers and resellers overwhelmingly respond to their customer-focused programs with loyalty, appreciationand sales. And the ability to leverage D&H’s expertise in digital home technology in Canada is an indisputable plus.”
