DIpartner Schedules February Design School

Five-day course will be held at CEDIA's Indianapolis headquarters, February 18-22.

Indianapolis, IN–DIpartner will hold a five-day Design School at CEDIA headquarters in Indianapolis from February 18-22. The school introduces the elements of designing electronic integration systems for today’s modern home.

The school will be taught by industry expert Todd B. Adams, a 16-year veteran of the industry and author of several books on residential integration. Adams was honored this fall as one of CEDIA’s top 10 instructors and Subject Matter Expert (SME) in residential integration at the CEDIA Expo in Denver.

Topics covered during Design School include: structured cabling, whole house music, home theater, lighting control, HVAC and security integration.

DIpartner’s Design School will focus on improving student skills to help them develop: an engineering design philosophy; create a cable specification plan; generate a system design using block diagrams; lay out a system design on floor plans; and create functional and technical specifications.

Students will see how to compose a load schedule, perform a project needs analysis, and conduct bottom-up and top-down cost estimates. In addition, classes cover room acoustics, speaker placement, lighting design methodologies, a layered approach to interface design, ventilation and power requirements, typical system applications, and the customer profile, project charter, and scope statement.
