Dorrance Supply Company Joins Catalyst AV Distribution Network

Founded in 1947, the Family-Owned Company Services Ohio, Western Pennsylvania, Western Virginia, Indiana, and Kentucky

Catalyst AV has added Dorrance Supply Company, located in Youngstown, OH, and with a warehouse also in Indianapolis, IN, to its distribution network. The third-generation family-owned-and-operated business, founded in 1947, has grown from a small, local distribution center to a leading provider of home electronics spanning most of the Midwest.

“We strive to stay ahead of the market by studying industry trends. This ensures that we offer our customers the latest and most cutting edge technology available,” said president John Dorrance. “Several training opportunities are offered throughout the year to make sure our customers are up to date with our product offerings, so they can pass on the same expertise to their customers.

“We service Ohio, western Pennsylvania, western Virginia, Indiana, and Kentucky. Our staff is a diverse group, with backgrounds in retail, custom, and factory direct sales. Most have worked in a combination of these or have experience in all three.

Catalyst AV executive director Helge Fischer said that he is delighted to announce that Catalyst AV is expanding again. “We have never been represented in the Ohio, western Pennsylvania, and western Virginia marketplace,” he noted. “We are very happy to welcome such a high-quality house as Dorrance Supply Company to the group. Besides the above-mentioned markets, Dorrance will also represent Catalyst AV in the Indiana and Kentucky markets through their warehouse in Indianapolis.

Fischer said that the last year has been “incredible” for the group with a tripling of market presence through Professional Audio Associates in the Northeast, entry into Southern California through Custom Plus, adding two warehouses to the Pioneer Music Company in the Kansas/St Louis area, and now expanding with Dorrance into Ohio, western Pennsylvania and western Virginia.

“Just like the Catalyst AV team of distributors, we believe strongly that there is no substitute for a friendly face with a vested interest in our dealer’s businesses,” Dorrance concluded. “We are experiencing rapid growth and there is a continued upside in custom installation and light commercial. There is complete synergy between what we accomplish and what the rest of the group does; it is just a great fit for us to join Catalyst AV.”
