Showcasing its immersive audio experience, DTS partnered with several flagship manufacturers to deliver a compelling surround experience. DTS believes that immersive audio helps to connect viewers to movies on a more emotional level, and that the company is trying to improve the movie watching experience and to better deliver the artist (director’s) intent and vision.
The demo is being performed at the Seymour-Screen Excellence booth and features three demo clips recorded in DTS:X to highlight different facets of the new immersive audio format.
Included in the 9.4.4 demo is the Datasat RS20i processor. The demo takes advantage of Datasat’s 9 DSP chips to run multiple side channel speakers, so “every row is the best seat in the house.” All of the Induction Dynamics speakers are concealed behind fabric in the Cinema Design Group International designed room, with the main LCR screen channels behind a Seymour Screens TAM-1 masking acoustically transparent screen designed for 4K content.
The demo includes three clips that showcase different aspects of DTS:X audio including the overhead height channels, aggressive side and rear panning, and how audio can create ambience and change the listening environment. The demo included scenes from Gods of Egypt, Crimson Peak, and London Has Fallen.
