ELAN U Reaches Major Milestone

The manufacturers online training program has calculated that more than 100,000 courses have been taken in the last three years.

Lexington, KY–ELAN Home Systems reports that the number of courses taken through the company’s ELAN U online training program has surpassed the 100,000 mark, with 107,533 courses taken in the program’s three-year history. The announcement was made by Paul Starkey, ELAN’s executive vice president of sales and marketing.

Introduced in 2003, ELAN U is an online training program that is dedicated to providing relevant and up-to-date information regarding the installation and support of ELAN’s product line. It also offers courses on industry fundamentals such as wireless networking. Nearly 200 in-depth courses, designed to take custom dealers and Installers step-by-step through basic system design and pre-wire, all the way up to programming, trim-out and systems integration, are available through ELAN U in four levels of certification: Professional Installer, Master Installer, PhD Installer and E_Installer.

ELAN U represents one tier in an extensive multi-tier strategic training initiative developed and offered by ELAN that also includes twice- monthly headquarters training, in-field regular regional training, new West coast quarterly training, and the company’s bi-annual Tech Week Installer training and bi-annual TRIO Business, Sales and Technical training summit.

“Achieving this kind of participation from our Dealers is very rewarding,” said Starkey. “It is proof positive that the extensive resources we dedicate, and the significant financial investment that we make in ELAN U and our other training programs continues to pay off handsomely for us and for our dealers. It also illustrates that our dedication to providing world-class training and support options is something our dealers appreciate as an invaluable aide for advancing their skills and growing their businesses.”

“We strongly encourage our entire staff to participate in ELAN training programs in order to be empowered with the knowledge and skills to do the best possible job with sales and installation,” said Joe Strang, CEO of Showcase Home Theatre & Automation in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. “ELAN U has proven to be an invaluable resource for us. The program provides our team with an unsurpassed level of in-depth manufacturer’s product installation and support knowledge, allowing us significant savings in time and labor–ultimately resulting in happy clients and greater profitability.”

Since its inception, ELAN U has enrolled nearly 4,500 students and awarded 3,500 certificates to ELAN dealers and installers throughout the world in recognition of successful course completion. ELAN U continues to expand with extensive new product information and details posted upon release as well as new types of industry fundamental training. In the future, ELAN U plans to include sales and business training into its curriculum.
