Hauppauge, NY–Electrograph Systems has begun open registration for its third annual Display Technology Experience (DTE), a hands-on networking and training event created to help audiovisual resellers build their businesses and stay competitive.
The complimentary reseller event, which will take place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, October 18 at Madison Square Garden in New York City, is scheduled to include live demonstrations of the newest audiovisual displays and peripherals. Resellers will benefit from a keynote address by A/V visionary Gary Kayye, as well as in-depth workshops and educational sessions on product integration and advanced installation techniques.
“Electrograph’s DTE attracts major suppliers showcasing the newest technologies,” said Sam Taylor, president, Electrograph Systems. “It’s also a great opportunity for resellers to meet one-on-one with the experts to get answers to their specific technical questions.”
Technologies highlighted at DTE 2006 include flat panel plasma and LCD displays, rear projection TVs, mounts, audio, CAT5 products, scalers and interfaces, input cards, touch overlays, tuners, and power conditioners. Major display providers such as NEC, Samsung, Panasonic, Pioneer, Sony, Philips, Sharp, LG, Mitsubishi, and Hitachi will all exhibit at this year’s event. An array of peripheral product suppliers will also demonstrate a complete display solution.
Electrograph’s DTE event will offer a wealth of information from leading instructors in the audiovisual industry. Gary Kayye, founder of Kayye Consulting and the e-newsletter, rAVe, will kick-off DTE 2006 by delivering a keynote address, called “The Future of AV in Everything.”
Joe Kane, former chair of the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE) and CEO of Joe Kane Productions, and Chuck Wilson, executive director of the National Systems Contractors Association (NSCA) will also be featured as honored guests.
Attending resellers will have two educational tracks from which to choose: Business Building and Technical Training. Attendees who participate in either track will earn .75 National System Contractors Association (NSCA) University Learning Credits per session.
“We’ve created our two tracks with both the installer and business owner in mind,” explained Taylor. “Attendees will walk away with tips and tricks they can put into action immediately.”

Brad Nelson, president of Sound Solutions Northwest, Inc. and chairman of the NSCA Education Committee will talk about “Ten Reasons Your Company May Fail -And How to Fix Them.”
Alan Brawn, partner/consultant for Telanetix, Inc. and principal of Brawn Consulting will provide “Installation Standards and Practices.”
Bill Whitlock, president of Jensen Transformers, Inc., offers an extensive background in high-performance and wideband analog circuit designs. He will talk about “Solving Ground Loop Problems in Video.”
