As founder of Xpertinstaller Inc., Zerby managed a 25,000 sq. ft. manufacturing and multiple retail facilities in the production and sales of mobile multimedia and sound accessories, including supervising a staff of over 50 people.

Zerby then went on to study Electrical/Software engineering and Planetary Sciences (Geology) at Iowa State University, where he worked as an independent researcher in robotics. As an avid space robotics lecturer and science writer, Zerby has been published in multiple science publications.

Zerby delved deep into custom high-end wood working and home theaters, beginning with furnishings under his own Zerby Fine Woodcrafts. Later, as technical sales rep for Diamond Vogel Industrial Wood Coatings company Zerby became a protective coatings expert. Most recently his Zertech Tools and Automation company designed, built, and marketed high-end automated woodworking machines in Ames, Iowa.

Zerby has amassed expertise in integrated system design, linear motion control systems, prototyping and testing, embedded microprocessor programming, automated machine design, and industrial coatings.

“On top of what Evan brings to daily operations, his expertise and resources bolster our abilities from process streamlining to R&D. This gives us greater strength and independence, critical during a time of global instability in sourcing parts, and perfectly in tandem with our continued growth in digital control systems and film screen technologies,” says Chris Seymour.

“I am thrilled to be joining at such an exciting time in the home theater industry. The Seymour brands are revered for innovation, and I am looking forward to leading future innovations to continue our storied tradition of excellence,” says Zerby.
