Hollywood, FL — Firefly Design Group has launched a new web portal for its custom installation clients to order services, organize project materials, upload documentation and project specifications, and receive communications and materials from Firefly Design Group.
“As Firefly Design Group has continued to evolve, we realized that in order to truly serve the documentation and project management needs of the custom installer, we have to streamline the communication process,” Firefly Design Group president and founder, Ron Callis, said. “In addition to offering a central platform where installers can upload and receive documents and communicate with the team at Firefly Design Group, this online portal helps increase our clients’ efficiency by reducing the potential for confusion in annotating multiple documents when managing a project.”
Through a central, online “dashboard,” custom installers now have the ability to access every detail of a job–from concept to completion–from any location, according to Callis.
Once logged in at www.firefly-designgroup.com, installers can navigate through a number of menus designed to help them manage projects. Users can upload documents in a number of formats, including frequently used file format such as Adobe PDF, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel. In addition, Firefly Design Group has the ability to send, receive, and edit documents produced in Autodesk Design Review, a free software platform that allows users to view, print, measure, and revise detailed 2D and 3D designs.
For custom installation companies with more than one employee, the Firefly Design Group Portal allows companies to assign administrative privileges that can dictate how much access each employee has to all of the portal’s features and documents.
The Firefly Design Group Portal allows users to order from Firefly Design Group’s menu of services. Prior to the introduction of the online order form, installers were required to e-mail, fax, or call in a request for service. With the launch of this new service, they now have the ability to create and manage a project as well as outline specific details on which services they need from Firefly Design Group to successfully complete the installation. Through the portal, Firefly Design Group clients can also easily upgrade to designecentral’s ePonti project management platform. Information stored within the portal is backed up daily to a secure, third-party off-site server, which employs the same 256-bit data encryption technologies utilized by many of the world’s top banks.
Firefly Design Group, together with designecentral, will offer live demonstrations of the new online portal in Booth 221 at CEDIA EXPO 2009, held September 10-13 in Atlanta.
