CEDIA has named Frank White, founding partner of StayTuned, as this year’s Lifetime Achievement Award recipient. White will be recognized at the annual Electronic Lifestyles Awards Celebration at CEDIA EXPO on September 13, 2014.

CEDIA’s Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes an individual who has exhibited outstanding, creative, innovative, and visionary leadership in the growth and advancement of the residential electronic systems industry. Nominations are submitted by industry professionals and are evaluated on the basis of achievement and service within the industry.

White has been a member of the industry since 1983, and he has been an active CEDIA volunteer since 1989. He has seen success in his various roles in the industry from his 15-year tenure at Multiplex where he created the ChannelPlus brand, to his time at AMX where he helped guide the company through a period of rapid growth, bringing it to a $100 million company.

White has continued delivering his expertise to a roster of clients as a founding partner of StayTuned. In addition to helping the companies he works with grow, he has also been instrumental in the growth of CEDIA, serving six years on the CEDIA board of directors and delivering vision and leadership in a variety of volunteer positions. CEDIA training participants have awarded White the CEDIA Top 10 Instructor Award seven times, and he was a core developer of CEDIA Boot Camp, a training program that is still used by the association today.

“When I think of CEDIA Training, Frank is the first person to pop into my head,” said Dave Pedigo, senior director of learning and emerging trends. “He is the most energetic, passionate and funny instructor I have ever witnessed. He is the embodiment of what it means to be a CEDIA member and volunteer and he has inspired so many to follow his lead.”

Tickets for CEDIA’s Electronic Lifestyles Awards Celebration, which will also recognize the award-winning work of CEDIA member home technology professionals, manufacturers, and volunteers, may be purchased through the registration process for CEDIA EXPO at www.cedia.net/expo or onsite. CEDIA EXPO will be held September 11-13 at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver.
