In the ’90s, he was best known for his time with Harvey Electronics, eventually becoming the CEO and helping Harvey successfully emerge from Chapter 11. Karp led Harvey to a public offering with listing on the NASDAQ Small Cap.
Most recently, Karp was COO for Audio Video Systems, LLC (AVS) in New York, one of the premiere custom integration firms in the nation. With AVS, he directed all business operations, overseeing more than 80 employees, contributed to 40 percent revenue growth, and fully implemented the company’s new Advanced Verification Process, leveraging Millson Systems solutions for building and testing complete systems before deployment. Karp is a past president of HTSA (Home Technology Specialists of America) and has received numerous awards and accolades.
