Connectivity solutions provider Gefen has released its new Multi-Format Processor (EXT-MFP).

Connectivity solutions provider Gefen has released its new Multi-Format Processor (EXT-MFP). This simple-to-use, single-box solution provides ample source switching, format conversion with automatic scaling and independent digital and analog audio routing with comprehensive mobile control options. It is ideal for any installation supporting a mix of digital and analog AV sources and two high definition DVI and HDMI displays or projectors.

The Multi-Format Processor supports today’s most popular video formats, including HDMI, DVI, DisplayPort, VGA, and composite video. It makes integrating computers, cameras, and video sources of all kinds simple and intuitive. It is compact and ready for use in conference rooms, classrooms, auditoriums, and command/control centers.

Digital (optical and coaxial) and analog audio inputs can be routed independently and associated with any video input. Selected sources are output as HDMI and DVI with stereo audio, supporting HDCP and high definition resolutions up to 1080p and 1920×1200 (WUXGA). A high-quality, internal scaling engine ensures video content is converted and set to the correct resolution for the connected display.

When used with Gefen’s Syner-G software, setup can be simplified using the Discovery, Show-Me, and IP configuration options. The Multi-Format Processor’s powerful and easy-to-use web server interface further simplifies configuration thanks to cutting-edge features such as advanced EDID management that enables quick and reliable handshaking between sources and displays.

Customization options include assignable names for each input, password-protected access, and different levels of access and control permissions for end users and administrators. Control options include an intuitive graphical web interface accessible from any computer, tablet, and smartphone, or via Telnet, UDP, RS-232, IR remote, or front panel controls.
