Home Automation Inc. (HAI) says that its OmniPro II and Lumina Pro home control systems now feature two-way integration with Carrier Infinity and Bryant Evolution Communicating HVAC systems. The company also noted that its OmniTouch 10pe wireless touchscreen is now shipping worldwide and that it has released its OmniTouchPro home control software for use with third-party touchscreen devices.

Carrier/Bryant HVAC zone can now appear as a standard HAI thermostat and may be controlled as though it was a standard HAI thermostat, according to HAI. With the proper equipment, this includes automated programming based on a schedule, motion detected, door openings, sunrise, and sunset. Additionally, this can include remote control from an iPhone, iPad, Droid, BlackBerry, or PC.

HAI’s OmniPro II now features two-way integration with Carrier Infinity and Bryant Evolution Communicating HVAC systems.
Integration is accomplished using HAI’s Serial Connectivity Adapter Kit (HAI part number 36A05-4) connected to the Carrier/Bryant Serial Access Module (SAM). Then, simply set the HAI serial port to “Carrier/Bryant,” the company says. Each SAM supports up to two Carrier/Bryant systems, with up to eight HVAC zones on each system. The HAI controller supports multiple SAMs connected through unique serial ports on the HAI controller. Each thermostat in the HAI controller can be assigned to an HVAC zone for total control of the HVAC system. HAI OmniPro II and Lumina Pro systems support 64 total thermostats.

Carrier Infinity and Bryant Evolution systems are supported by HAI OmniPro II and Lumina Pro systems. The systems must be utilizing controller firmware 3.5 or later.

OmniTouchPro Software
HAI’s OmniTouchPro software (HAI part number 1131) is the same user-interface engine that runs on HAI’s OmniTouch 5.7e, 10p, and 10pe touchscreens. The software is now available for separate purchase and may be installed on most third-party touchscreen devices running Windows XP, Vista, and Win7. The default interface designs are available in eight languages.

OmniTouchPro is a software application that provides access to security, lighting, temperature, audio/video, and IP surveillance cameras. Interface customizations, including colors, icons, floorplans, room-specific pages, and additions like traffic cameras or weather outlooks occur using HAI’s Automation Studio.

Up to two HAI Camera Servers (eight surveillance cameras) may be added without any extra software. Dealers can use Automation Studio to add additional IP Cameras and IP devices like the HAI Home Theater Extender and HAI Music Gateway.

HAI, the leading manufacturer of integrated automation and security products since 1985, announced today that the OmniTouch 10pe (HAI part number 94A00-1) is now shipping worldwide.

OmniTouch 10pe
HAI’s OmniTouch 10pe is a portable 10.4-inch ethernet-based Wi-Fi Touchscreen provides easy access to manage the home’s security, lighting, temperature, and audio/video.

The 10pe can view IP cameras without any extra equipment and analog cameras with HAI’s Camera Server (part number 87A00-1). The OmniTouch 10pe can display eight languages including English, Italian, French, Catalan, Latin American Spanish, European Spanish, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese, using HAI PC Access programming software (part number 1105W).

Although the product ships with a default user interface, the interface is fully customizable using HAI’s Automation Studio software (part number 1126). Dealers can develop a graphic user interface based upon the homeowner’s lifestyle and interests. Simple updates like removing a button or more involved applications like adding a floorplan can be accomplished with Automation Studio, HAI says.

According to HAI, the 10pe can be set up as a room controller without the need for a full-blown home control system. Using the HAI Home Theater Extender (part number 86A00-1) and the aforementioned Automation Studio, any room can be automated including home theaters, corporate boardrooms, or school classrooms. One button push can close the curtains, lower a screen, and turn on the appropriate audio/video equipment.
